Saint-Gobain Adfors Geocell are three dimensional honeycombed cellular structures that form a confinement system with the addition of in-filled compacted soil/aggregates.
Applications:
- Geocell serves as load spreader when loads act on the system
- Geocell reduces vertical differential settlement into soft subgrades.
- Geocell improves shear strength and load bearing capacity of soil, thereby, enhancing the service life of pavements.
- Cellular confinement strengthens the aggregate infill, allowing the native local soils and recycled materials to be used.
- Geocell confinement allows construction of steep slopes.
- The retaining wall structure is formed from horizontal layers of Geocell filled and placed one on top of another - cheaper material and reduced maintenance.
- Geocells can be placed in: Subgrade, Granular sub-base layer, Base layer
- Suitably reduces thickness of base and sub-base layers using modulus improvement factor as per IRC:SP:59-2019.
